Women With Metal is an initiative set up by Kirsty Davies-Chinnock to support and encourage women, and their allies, working within the metals sector.
Playing a key role in highlighting the contributions of women that are driving innovation, leading projects and pushing boundaries in what has traditionally been a male dominated field.
This year, Women With Metal held the first awards ceremony to celebrate these pioneering ladies, it was held at Aluminium World Trade Fair and Conference in Dusseldorf. With categories such as role model, sustainable & innovative leader, and young leader the awards championed the diverse roles women play in the modern metals industry.
Among the nominees was our very own Nicky Walker, who was shortlisted in the category ‘unsung shero’. Mechatherm’s Services Manager has been part of the driving force behind establishing our global aftercare and upgrades team. Created to provide long term commitment to our clients, Mechatherm Services has grown year on year since its inception in 2015, with much of that success attributed to Nicky’s dedication.
At Mechatherm we recognise the value of diversity in the workplace and our commitment to promoting gender equality will help to inspire a new generation of women’s contributions to our industry.
